History: The Mighty Richland Players was modeled on the Goldenrod Showboat that toured the Mississippi and was docked near the St. Louis Arch from 1926 through the 1970s. Meals: Our meals are catered by Four Seasons Banquet Facility of Freeport and feature everything from comfort food and vegetarian dishes to holiday specials. Location: Productions take place in the Orangeville Masonic Lodge at 203 W. High Street, Orangeville. That's the two-story buff building with blue trim on the south side of the street. Built in 1876, the lodge hall is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Italianate Victorian design structure recently underwent a $150,000 restoration and continues to serve as the only meeting place for the village's fraternal orders. Announcements: Order your tickets today. They make great gifts for friends and family. Print out our Order Form, enclose your check, and mail them both to MRPDT, P.O. Box 22, Orangeville, IL 61060. Call us at (815) 819-1310 for more details. Join the Mighty Richland Players in a Las Vegas-style whodunit, Murder in Sin City, scheduled Aug. 22 at 1 p.m. Everybody gets to join in and help answer the questions of who's the murderer and whose secrets will be exposed. It promises to be a rollicking good time -- don't miss it! ACT, A Community Together, has received a grant of $895 from the Freeport Art Museum Community Arts Access Grant Program. The money will be used to offset the cost of providing a free summer community concert series in Orangeville. All concerts will begin at 7 p.m. at the Richland Trail Head Shelter, Jane Addams Trail, in Orangeville. Dates are:
The program is partially supported by the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency, and the Freeport Art Museum. ACT is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the development of the greater Orangeville area. Recently, Mighty Richland Players purchased 42 padded, straight-back chairs ($75 each). To help pay for this capital expense, an Adopt-A-Chair program was begun. For $50, patrons can have the name or names of friends or relatives permanently affixed to a chair. Gifts are tax deductible. Call us at (815) 819-1310 for details.
